Quasi-Book is an artist's book by Kolxoz Collective, concluding their 2021 residency project curated by Mahler & LeWitt Studios and Viaindustriae. The residency, held in Sol LeWitt's studio in Spoleto, served as a platform to explore artistic publishing practices. Initially, the Quasi-Book project was an open studio, a temporary bookshop, and a forum for discussing book-making practices. It has now become a quasi-book with chapters that reflect Kolxoz Collective's key techniques and themes. These include promoting a communal "inter-language" for new communication methods (Glossary), using postal services to share materials (Post Bridge), employing thermal printing as a portable publishing tool (Other Books), and combining texts with visuals (Diagrams). The book also features an extract from a "live dictionary" conversation between Kolxoz Collective, Viaindustriae, and Mahler & LeWitt Studios.
