Two years ago, students in the two-year photography course at ISIA Urbino engaged in a series of activities—residences, courses, and workshops—focused on Italian colonialism. Their goal was to research and reflect on its historical narrative and contemporary impact. Aligned with the Institute's mission to blend teaching, cultural projects, and social engagement, the group embarked on a long-term project. Utilizing an array of sources such as archives (MUCIV, ICCD, Biblioteca Nazionale), monuments, and communities in Rome, they developed their work. After two years of continuous review and study, their projects were formalized into a book and an exhibition taking place on July 2024 at Villa Romana, Florence.
