Published on the occasion of Ljubljana’s 26th Biennial of Design, ‘Common Knowledge’ focuses on the interrelations between the information crisis and citizenship, examining the role and potential of contemporary design in shaping knowledge and truth, and in the recalibration of our infosphere. In order to tackle this complex theme, the curators adopted the data-information-knowledge-wisdom (DIKW) pyramid to structure the biennial’s exhibition, commissions, public programmes, and catalogue. The publication is split into five “magazines” – each issue explores the topic from various viewpoints, through essays, interviews, photo reportages, infographics, and more.
