This book follows the exhibition ‘:’ by gerlach en koop. Invited by curator Paula van den Bosch, in 2016 they delved deeply into the collection of the Bonnefantenmuseum. It also traces the catalogue ‘cubics’ (1970) by architect-designers Slothouber and Graatsma, which serves as support for the artworks in print, just like their system of blocks supported the artworks in the show. All exhibited works are included, plus several anonymous objects of different provenances and times. Interestingly, the book contains a lengthy interview with the artists by a redacted ghostwriter. With works by Francis Alÿs, Marcel Broodthaers, Joseph Beuys, Agnes Martin, Lily van der Stokker, and more.
