Between 1970 and 1985 the photographer Michel Szulc Krzyzanowski realised an epic series of photographic sequences. Produced predominantly during long periods in the Baja California in Mexico, the images demonstrate a consequent and fascinating process of enquiry into the photographer’s existence and his material surroundings. Depicted are shadows, sticks, stones, shells, sand and water captured in pure simplicity and brought to life through simple movements. Collected in a bound edition, the 500 black and white images are presented here through some 125 sequences and accompanied by a short two page preface from the photographer himself.
