'Fernão Cruz: Outro' is a paper exoskeleton in the form of a quasi-artist’s book, centred on the eponymous exhibition at Rialto6, Lisbon (May–July 2024). Outro constructed a meta-domestic space where time stood still, marked by uninhabited household objects in the wake of a fire - like a theatre set left undismantled. The book features installation views, artwork images, an introduction by Thomas Ellmer, an essay on love, acceptance, and loss by Mariana Lemos, and a conversation between Carolina Grau and the artist. It is further enriched with previously unseen drawings scanned from Cruz’s notebooks, offering fresh insight into his evolving practice.
