Norman Foster Sketchbooks Volume V' spans five years, 1996–2000, with more than 500 drawings sourced from 100 sketchbooks. Two important milestones marked this period, both in 1999: the official opening of the new Reichstag in Berlin and Foster being awarded the Pritzker Prize. In addition, two significant projects for London marked the turn of the millennium: a tower that was not built and a bridge that was, between the city and the new Tate Modern. Like the earlier volumes, the book’s structure is thematic, ordered by individual projects, and with an additional section devoted to further schemes scarcely developed. A single section on furniture and objects is also included.
