Israel Ariño explores the concept of place in darkness, as the essence of emotional connection. The night is a time for discovery and imagination. As part of his artist’s residency in October and November 2016 at Domaine de Kerguéhennec, a contemporary art centre in Brittany, these photographs taken at night showcase ambiguous silhouettes, shadowy landscapes and mysterious shapes. This series also has the backing of Galerie VU and Grisart. After graduating from the University of Barcelona in Fine Arts, Ariño became a professional photographer in 2001. His oeuvre is represented by Parisian Galerie VU.
