Following their joint 2024 exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, this publication explores the distinct practices of Judith P. Fischer and the late Uwe Hauenfels. Fischer investigates spatial perception through large-scale installations of elastic cords that blur boundaries between drawing and sculpture. Hauenfels created near-calligraphic spatial compositions using metal and light, inspired by his travels. Moving beyond a traditional exhibition catalog, the book examines their artistic approaches to space, time, and materiality while questioning transformation and corporeality in contemporary art.
