Since the emergence of science, typology has played an important role as an ordering system for the production of knowledge and as a tool for shaping reality. Against the backdrop of the Anthropocene, Future Typologies explores how architectural types can be redeveloped to serve the future transformation of spatial production. What would an architectural language look like that enables us to deal with growing challenges such as flooding, soil erosion, deforestation, desertification, etc. and turn them into something productive? How can we reassemble the natural and built environment in sustainable arrangements? How can we design typological narratives that open our imagination to the design of planetary kinship and care?
