Growing up in Lubumbashi, Michaël De Plaen came into contact with many artists, one of whom in particular left a great impression on him. After moving to Belgium, he became a photographer in 2009, producing reportages about lost traditions, urban demography, and identity. Yet he had not forgotten Mode Muntu.
