Kate Tucker’s first book follows the evolution of her practice over the last decade. Describing the Melbourne-based artist’s works as “paintings” seems insufficient, at odds with Tucker’s densely layered, fractured, and rearranged works. A workbook as much as a monograph, the overview does not so much reproduce Tucker’s works as it nestles in among them, testing new sight lines, combinations, and arrangements. Dialogic, generative, and unmistakably physical, the selection of works leads us to new vantages on her painting and sculptural practice.
